DEPUTIES PROTEST BOOTH DUTY.(CAPITAL REGION)

SCHAGHTICOKE The Schaghticoke Fair, beginning Wednesday, will have its share of politics and a union-management dispute in addition to farm animals, carnival rides and 4-H displays.

The controversy erupted when the union representing highway deputies asked Rensselaer County Sheriff Daniel V. Keating not to assign two road patrolmen half of the staff to the fair's information booths because of a staff shortage.
